A Spicy tangy Chicken based semi gravy which can be used as side dish for steamed rice,idly or dosa and even for roti and chapathi. It is typically prepared with Chicken and juicy tomatoes. This recipe is shared by my grand mother and i have prepared exactly the way she prepares it. She used to prepare it as a side dish for rasam and rice combination. I primarily use this for dosa, idly and rasam rice recipe
Chicken Thokku recipe - Learn how to make chicken thokku in easy steps. Chicken Thokku is a perfect winter recipe and its very easy to make. This recipe needs no grinding masala, no elaborate cooking. We can make this with very simple and basic ingredients. Chicken Thokku has a taste and aroma that is very different from the other chicken curry recipes. All that makes the chicken thokku dish special is the fresh coconut milk which brings the mild sweet to the chicken. It can be served as a starter or as a accompaniment to rice or naan or chapathi. This chicken thokku recipe can be used to make both versions of the chicken thokku dry and a semi curry or semi gravy. To get the right taste do stick on the exact measurements.

Ingredients:
Onion - 3 no
Green Chili - 2 no
Ginger Garlic paste - 2 tsp
Curry leaves
Chopped Tomato - 3 no
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Chili powder - 3 tsp
Coriander powder - 2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder powder - 2 tsp
Desi Chicken - 1 Kg
Coconut milk - 1 cup
Coriander leaves
How to Make :
1.Add the sliced onions and slit chillies to the pan.Saute until
the onions turn golden brown in colour.
2.Now, add some ginger-garlic paste & curry leaves
to the pan and mix well.
3.Add the chopped tomatoes to the pan and mix well.
4.Add some salt, turmeric,chilli,coriander & garam masala
powder to the pan. Mix all the ingredients well
5.Now, add the chicken to the pan and mix well until the
Chicken are well coated.Let it cook for about 5 minutes
6.Now, add enough water, close the pot with a lid and
let it cook for about 20 minutes.
7.Finally, add the thick coconut milk to the pan and cook till
it comes to a semi gravy consistancy
8.Add the chopped coriander leaves. Mix once.
You can turn off the stove and serve.
